Lately I have been thinking about the important things in life. My family. My husband and children. As Eric and I sat on the couch the other night '"watching t.v." I realized we were not actually doing that. Both of us were sitting there in complete silence on our phones. We were not engaged in conversation, we were not cuddling, we were not even present to each other. This moment just made me think of what is really important. Is it what's on the phone? or the people and situation in front of me? It made me think of how much I am actually on my phone, whether it be on Facebook, Pinterest, or playing mindless games. Our society is so dependent on these devices and it's just sad, and I'm one of the major culprits!! I have wasted so much time! Time that I could just simply be watching my new baby drink his bottle and watching is precious little hands grasp the bottle. He's only this size for so long. If not watching him, I could be reading Payton a a story while he eats. All of these thoughts brought me to one conclusion... I have to do something about it. I want to pay more attention to my husband, I don't want sitting in silence night after night because of our phones just to drive a wedge between us. I don't want my children to think back on their childhood and say " my mom and dad always were on their phones" So, I have quit FB. This was one of my major habits. I will just be bored so I pick up my phone, check my newsfeed, see if I have any notifications, basically just waste time. Now, I'm not saying that I've banned my phone lets be serious! But I am making a major effort to keep it limited when I have more important and precious things in front of me. Why would I want to miss out on anything they do? I would have to be crazy.
I chatted all this out with Anna and she feels the exact same way. So we have quit FB together and it has been surprisingly easier than we thought. Eric has also taken the leap and I can already tell the difference at home :)
Another great thing that quitting facebook has done for me... I now have more time to keep up my blog! I have to post pictures and up dates of the kids somewhere!! That is IMPORTANT!

24 weeks
Today I am 24 weeks along so Pay and I did a little photo shoot together :) She was all about it! We would set the timer and then race to the spot before it went off. Ha!
Fall Break Organizing Day 1- The Kitchen
During my Fall Break I have decided to go through and thoroughly gut each room in my house. Yesterday I started with the Kitchen, I have a bit more to do today but boy does it feel good! I pulled out every single item in each cupboard, cleaned each shelf, then placed all the items back, some in different spots. Everything is so much more easily accessible now, and feels clutter free. Today I have to do all the drawers and I will be done! Here are some pics of my process.
Now these are the before pics of my messy kitchen that was going to be cleaned regardless during my normal Saturday routine. I wish I had before pics of my cupboards but I wasn't thinking that far ahead...
This was another collector of things. Everything is now in a cupboard, or in the trash! I finally bought one of those plastic baggie holders and us in the pantry. No more plastic bags hanging off the side.
By alternating my glasses I had so much more space. That pitcher never fit in there, or my wine glasses, mugs. The mugs were in a different cupboard all together. Again, I used one of my shelves to help create more room.
Completely moved all the tupperware. All the lids are now in a basket, and the bottoms are neatly stacked.
All cookbooks and baking books are together above the tupperware
I actually had extra space to store paper towels! That was exciting!
This was a disaster before. I had so much crammed in here that you could barely find what you needed.
The other side, with all corning wear and their lids in a basket
I couldn't get the best angle of this one, but these are items that I don;t use all the time, for baking and such!
My old tupperware drawer is now all my baking pans, bowls and other baking items.
Ahhh....Clutter free!!

The After:
This is so much better! I have more than what I had in there before, but from looking at it, you would think I purged. I bought the white shelves in a pack of 3 from Walmart. They really help make more space. This was another collector of things. Everything is now in a cupboard, or in the trash! I finally bought one of those plastic baggie holders and us in the pantry.
