Paytons Arrival

On Friday March 5, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. Payton Leigh Gundry was born! She weighed 7lb 5oz and was 19in long. The whole day we were surrounded by our family and friends waiting for her arrival. After a couple hours of sleep Eic and I woke up for the day and we were just so excited and anxious for her to come. We were so happy to have our loved ones there to support us. That day was pretty much sitting in my delivery room waiting and taking a thousand pictures of everyone. At around 1:00 p.m I was diatated to 6 so we knew that we still had a ways to go given the fact that it had taken me so long to get to that point. So we all started making guesses of when she would come...well at 3:00 Katie checked me and I could tell by the look on her face that it was time. She told me that her head was right there and I was 10 plus 1. Right then everyone stared making phone calls, I got about 20 emotions flowing thorugh me at one time, but most of all, I was excited. Eric and I just looked at each other and said " You ready?" Everyone left the room to go wait. Inside it was me, Eric, Katie and mom. Eric held one leg and Katie held the other and we started pushing. I pushed for 40 min and out she came! The happiest moment of our lives:) I never knew that you could love something so much. She was more perfect than we ever could have imagined ( Light hair and all). They put her right on my chest and she just stared at me,and as soon as Eric started talking to her she followed his voice and looked right at him. It is a moment that I will never forget. At that moment we became a family. After we had bonding time Eric went out to tell the good news, and from what I hear he announced that it was a boy! HA! Everyone came in to welcome Payton to the world, then they all went off to celebrate at Mcayos. Meanwhile, Eric and I were still in the delivery room while Katie finished up her charting, then Payton got her first bath. It was so neat that my life long friend was such a huge part in the delivery of our baby I can't wait until Payton can hear all about it! I stayed in the hospital fot two long nights and then we took our baby home to start our new life.A Proud Daddy
Yay! I am not diabetic anymore! Bring on the chicken fingers!

What A Perfect Day!
